the noob on the tube here. Here's the scoop on this site and how to use it...
About the site
This site is a nothing more than a commentary on the TV shows of today, run by the people of tomorrow. Cheesy, yes. But true. hopefully, i'll be around tomorrow, so i can catch the new episode of NCIS. Knowing that i'll read this later on and kick myself, I'm just going to shut up and get to point.
Here's a list of the shows I will try to cover; it's not permanant, seeing as how shows get cancelled :(, and new shows added. They're not in the order of preference, i'm not biased, or at least won't be on this blog.
- NCIS, Tuesday 8-9 on CBS. One of the many police procedurals that populate the networks, but this one stands out of the crowd. And there's proof of that, topping the Nielsen's almost every night a new ep premieres, and staying on the list even for reruns. Starring: Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, Sean Murray, Pauley Perette, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum.
- Bones, Thursday 8-9 on Fox. Another police procedural, focuses on the unlikely partnership between a former Army Rangers sniper turned FBI agent and a cold, analytical, socially awkward anthropologist/writer who makes up for her lack of social skills with her stunning good looks.
Starring: David Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel, Michaela Conlin, TJ Thyne, Tamara Taylor, and John Francis Daley. - Chuck, Monday 8-9 NBC, an action comedy about a geek turned spy. When Chuck Bartowski accidentally downloads the government's top-secret intel database into his head, he turns his life upside down, filling his previously underachieving life with spies, guns, and lies.
Starring: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Alec Baldwin, Joshua Gomez, Sarah Lancaster, and many, many more. - Castle, Monday 8-9 ABC, OK, I'll admit, i do have a thing for police procedurals, but I only like the good ones... OK, that excuse failed, but this show won't. Castle is a lot like Bones, except it's the cop who's uptight, and the writer has maturity of a 6 year old. This show's a rising star, except this one's not made of hydrogen, but comedy and twists.
Starring: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, Jon Huertas, Seamus Dever, and Tamala Jones.
Realizing that you may be getting a bit bored, I'll rapid fire off the other shows I'll cover: - Human Target, Thursdays, 7-8. Action Drama; about a hitman turned bodyguard. Off-season currently
- Merlin, BBC's latest hit show, fantasy. Self-explanatory really. Just add the word "young" to the front, and you've got the gist of it.
- And reruns of the above. I'll only recap eps that actually meant something, like game-changers, finales, and the really good stuff.
Yep, that's about it. Now, if you move your eyes down, you'll find out a little about me.
the noob on the tube
OK, I'll start out with the username. "the noob"does not mean i'm an inexperienced netizen (ok ok, 90's term. won't happen again); it just means that i'm relatively young. "on the tube", well, that refers to the fact that this blog is a commentary on TV, again, probably a dated term by now, but... it works.
I'm going to try keeping it incognito, but i will say a couple things: i'm what people call "young", just your regular youngster. The rest, well, read carefully.
